The NPD numbers for January are in, and the PS4 appears to be steaming right ahead in 2014. Sony's console led US hardware sales for the month, “nearly doubling” the closest next gen competitor, according to a Q&A on the company’s site. It’s especially impressive considering the fact that units are nearly impossible to find in stores, making it hard to tell how many PS4′s would have been sold were they readily available.
I chose to stick with the Xbox because I wanted to continue having the same experience gaming with the friends that I'd met on the Xbox 360 and there was a consensus in our group that we'd stick with Microsoft.
What kills me is that all the issues around the Xbox One launch killed the experience that my friends and I enjoyed on the Xbox 360: Broken chat, stability issues, slow response times. Add that into the botched Battlefield 4 launch (EA and DICE should be horsewhipped) and... what a fucking mess.
Honestly, I'm wondering if I made a mistake sticking with Xbox. I can't tell if things would have been any better on the PS4. I'd have probably have had different issued had I switched and I'd have still had to deal with the Battlefield 4 issues, so I'm thinking I was damned either way.
Must be great knowing your customers feel damned.
